Warrior Challenge II: FAQ

The overall objective of the 2nd Annual Direct Action Tactical Warrior Challenge: Tribute to Medal of Honor Recipients is to bring together our community to celebrate the sacrifices made by America’s Armed Forces past and present. We hope this event will foster teamwork and a sense of esprit de corps long since felt by our service members. The events may be challenging for some and easy for others. Yet in the spirit of teamwork and camaraderie individuals joining together for a common goal- to finish a task with honor, courage, and commitment is truly at the core of our military values.

Is there a spectators area?
Not currently but we are working on a video feed like we had last year but don’t hold us to it.

What type of physical exercises will we do?
Each team house will have a series of 4 exercises to be completed by each team member. Exercises may be ammo can lifts, air squats, tricep extensions with a sand bag, and other military style exercises (we don’t want to give too much away!) Exercises can be modified to meet age appropriate needs and physical limitations. The objective of this event is to build teamwork and to give the participant an idea of the challenges that may have faced the Medal of Honor Recipients read about in each team house.

What other things are there to do on the day of the event?
We will have an area designated to highlight Medal of Honor Recipients for individuals to read and reflect on their heroism. There will be a presentation on our Military Services and in keeping with the traditions of our military heritage there will be plenty of time to interact with current and former military veterans. There will be other vendors on site, we’ll keep you updated as we know more.

How many people are allowed to be on a team?
4. Groups not consisting of 4 members will be merged with other participants into a 4 person team.

I have more than 4 people that want to participate. Can I have more?
Each heat is limited to a total of 16 players. You will have to make multiple teams of 4 as per your group size. If you don’t have enough people to fill out a team individual registrants will be assigned to your team. ** Note: Be sure to register at the same time to ensure that you are all in the same heat.

Is there a charge to observe the day’s events without physically participating?
No, we welcome anyone that wants to come and support our military members on their day. There will be opportunities to provide a donation to the causes we are supporting but it’s not mandatory.

Do the proceeds support any causes?
Yes, as we have in the past 3 years, 50% of all proceeds and ALL donations go to the Wounded Warrior Project. For more information check out http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/. The remaining 50% from proceeds take care of our event costs. As in the past, Direct Action Tactical makes no profit on these events.

How will I know what to do at the event?
Upon your arrival to the event you will check in at the registration desk (pre-registration will be much faster and ensure your position in the heat of your choice). Once in the training area you will be divided into your teams or assigned a team if you are an individual registrant. A staff member (AKA briefer) will brief the teams on safety, airsoft weapons familiarization, and scheme of maneuver in the airsoft arena.

What if I can’t complete the event?
Each team will be assigned a staff member that will be with them for the duration of the event. Should a participant choose to end their participation the staff member will make appropriate arrangements at that time.

Do the airsoft BBs hurt?
Hell yes, but they are non-lethal, there are minimum engagement rules, and it’s a CRAZY good time!!

What can I expect inside the arena?
Each participant will engage in 4 rounds of physical activity as a team broken up by an objective based airsoft team challenge. The objective of the airsoft challenge will be a capture the flag style game. The winning team will be awarded a point, the team with the most points in each heat will be awarded a free day of play (to include rentals) from Tango Down Airsoft Arena as well as some other AWESOME prizes from various vendors and event supporters.
